Yep, I am a leap year baby, which means that my birthday got skipped this year! The years when I don't have a birthday, then I take advantage and celebrate my birthday on 2 days--February 28 and March 1. This year was no exception! I say its my birthday both days! But as usual my birthday ended up being a birthday week (mostly cuz I plan it that way!) Anyways, on other people's blogs I have noticed that when it's someone's birthday they write 10 things that they love about that person. Since the mister is not going to write 10 things he loves about me because he has no idea how to log on to this blog, I decided I'd write 10 things about how I love being me.

1. Sometimes I say things that don't make sense but in my head I know exactly what I'm talking about.
2. I am very protective over my treats. I believe in dividing them up equally....which means that I get them all!
3. Okay I am totally kidding! I'm really not gonna write 10 reasons why I love myself! But nobody else was going to do it so I figured I had to!!

So for my birthday I had a very busy week! I had a family party where my mom made homemade rolls which are my absolute FAVORITE!! My sisters birthday is 2 weeks before mine so we had a combined celebration!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SbrgZftPfJI/AAAAAAAAAgo/eO5ynAORd28/s320/Picture+048.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5312805439049530514" />

I had girls night with some girls from high school. We went to cheesecake factory! It was so much fun and soooo good!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SbrhUot2xYI/AAAAAAAAAg4/iwnB0mvkFMc/s320/Picture+061.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5312806455080306050" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SbrhT7sOhuI/AAAAAAAAAgw/wXTezyfcfuY/s320/Picture+052.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5312806442993878754" />

I had seeesters night with my two sisters! We ate lots of food and watched the stupidest movie ever! The narrator sounded like a complete idiot....or maybe sounded like a pervert? I'm not sure! It was one of those movies that won a bunch of awards at the Oscars though. I swear those movies are never good!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SbrjB4y4gcI/AAAAAAAAAhA/qYTrSDUX5X0/s320/Picture+277.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5312808332002099650" />

Then my wonderful hubby planned a surprise birthday party for me. We ate lots of good food and played Rockband and Singstar! Thanks for the wifey's for helping!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SbrjDDzvW1I/AAAAAAAAAhg/USFtDUdp6gc/s320/Picture+429.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5312808352138353490" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SbrjC_fsI8I/AAAAAAAAAhY/46nBFgtP_-4/s320/Picture+425.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5312808350980514754" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SbrjCQ_S9HI/AAAAAAAAAhQ/6a7dcL9jgZg/s320/Picture+423.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5312808338496615538" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SbrjCWh0O6I/AAAAAAAAAhI/19FF2VeFhy8/s320/Picture+299.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5312808339983580066" />

The next night we had Shawn's family over for dinner and played more Rockstar and I had more cheesecake!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SbrlUWuOJMI/AAAAAAAAAhw/ctEGFkD_8vc/s320/Picture+012.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5312810848296510658" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SbrlUBpS4UI/AAAAAAAAAho/Jy8D87hV1dI/s320/Picture+028.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5312810842638704962" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SbrlVBJXohI/AAAAAAAAAh4/Jlx1Bz0aC9I/s320/Picture+032.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5312810859684667922" />

I also went to lunch with a few of my friends and Shawn and ate so much sushi one night that our tummy's hurt. PLEASE????I seriously want one. Its all I can think about now. Cute lil' piglet following me around. I asked the Mr. and he said no....

Kingsford Goes to the Beach - Click here for more home videos

After my sisters and I watched this video we couldn't stop thinking about the cute piglet so we looked up piglets on the internet! We found these miniature pigs that they sell called royal dandies. Think how cute Harley would be hanging out with a miniature pig? BFF's for sure. It'd be a dream come true for me....

And I'm not joking....I really want one!Shawn and Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10804690379767529117noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1872212786325329487.post-3774020859298555732009-02-05T09:57:00.000-08:002009-02-05T10:20:27.942-08:00He seriously laughed at me???So these past few days I've been deathly ill. And I wasn't getting better at all I just kept getting worse and worse. Yesterday I finally decided I better go to instacare. I went to instacare and the doctor said I had strep throat. He said that I could either get a shot of antibiotics or I could take antibiotics for 10 days. Right away Shawn says, "I think you should do the shot." Well I have this little problem where everytime I get a shot or a needle comes around me I pass out. But the past few times I've gotten my blood taken I've been okay so I thought maybe I grew out of it. And whenever I take antibiotics I have a little problem with my intestines the whole time I'm on it (hope you catch my drift). But the doctor said I wouldn't have this problem if I had the shot. So shot it was! I pulled my pants down and the nurse gave me my shot. Next thing you know I was getting dizzy and my stomach starting hurting and I remember hearing myself say, "I'm gonna pass out." But my voice was so far away and I couldn't see anything anymore. Next thing I know I'm laying down and my legs are propped up. It was all black but then I started looking around and I started seeing things again. I looked at the nurse and didn't know who the heck he was but then I look at the guy next to him and he's laughing....oh yes the guy laughing was Shawn. My wonderful husband who will love me through thick and thin, through sickness or through health is laughing at me as I come to telling me how pale I was. Wow, I have the nicest husband ever! And then as I'm laying there trying not to pass out again he asks me what I'm cooking for dinner. Obviously thats a joke as I never cook dinner anyway, but what a butt face huh? Apparently I haven't grown out of passing out whenever I get a shot--good to know. And I also have free reign to laugh at Shawn next time he gets sick or hurt! Also good to know!

Back when Shawn loved me and wouldn't laugh at me when I was sick.....sigh....those were the days!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 256px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SYssiw1ZB0I/AAAAAAAAAgg/b2klfm1T74U/s320/Bridals+061.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5299378362267535170" />

By the way, my bum STILL hurts from where I got the shot. We decided to have a Mexican Fiesta party! We had so much good food! Enchiladas, Taco's, Bean Dip, Salsa, and then Courtney even made fried ice cream for dessert!

The boys digging in!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SVFfA-xW35I/AAAAAAAAAfU/h_sEGl6Jvq8/s320/n512887337_1258985_7509.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5283108308336959378" />

Courtney making the amazing fried ice cream! After we stuffed ourselves with food then we played a game called Cursed. Jason and Sasha brought the game and its one of the best games ever!! Basically all you do is make a fool of yourself..... When its your turn you pick a card and it will have a curse on it and then you give that curse to someone and they have that curse for the rest of the game. For example, I had the hiccups the whole time. So everytime I talked I had to hiccup. Danielle's arms started at the wrist so her wrists were connected to her chest (whish I had a picture of that). Megan had to sign everything she was doing, Courtney had to yell like a drill sargeant whenever she talked....oh it was soooo funny!! Sometimes we'd have 3 to 6 curses at a time! Anyways, its was fun and I can't wait to play that game again!Shawn and Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10804690379767529117noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1872212786325329487.post-30616822215277889112008-12-10T12:47:00.000-08:002008-12-10T13:27:06.934-08:00Annual Gingerbread House!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 286px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SUAwUWX0XiI/AAAAAAAAAfE/gKwyOTAkTvw/s320/untitled.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5278271889439219234" />

Every year since I can remember, my family has decorated a gingerbread house. My mom makes the house from scratch so it looks and tastes amazing. In the beginning when this tradition started, my mom used to have control of what went on the house and what it looked like. Now that we are all grown up and have our own kids (well some of us) the grandkids end up decorating most of it. One word to explain gingerbread night-- CHAOS!!! Little tiny hands grabbing m&m's and sticking them on the roof....frosting getting everywhere....slobber getting everywhere because they are eating candy at the same time as they are sticking it on the house....my mom still trying to control it somewhat so that the slobbery candy doesn't end up on the house. My one nephew kept eating candy and then spitting it out because he decided he didn't like it....YUMMMY!!! Nothing like slobbery, half chewed cinnamon bears being put into my hand!

This is my mom helping the grandkids while I stand there with my mouth full of candy....I'm so useles....
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SUAwTyyvvJI/AAAAAAAAAe0/pOdlz6kk23E/s320/gingerbread_004.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5278271879888485522" />

Jeffy helping with the roof while the Mr. eats candy......at least he is useless too!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SUAwUP-TU5I/AAAAAAAAAe8/nZIsdF42c7M/s320/gingerbread_007.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5278271887721583506" />

We discovered while we were young that the main focus of the house should be to get as much candy on there as possible because then when we break it in January, there will be twice as much candy on there to eat and it will taste so much better (yes, we actually eat a month old gingerbread house with candy on it.....look forward to it every year)! With that being said, it pretty much explains/describes the look of the house this year (and most previous years).
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SUAwUqm5uwI/AAAAAAAAAfM/V9hyMCGBKo8/s320/gingerbread_016.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5278271894871194370" />Shawn and Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10804690379767529117noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1872212786325329487.post-22034130868012509342008-12-02T14:29:00.000-08:002008-12-02T14:57:55.282-08:00Harding Beebee's....Thats right. You heard it right. We had a baby! Okay okay, not really a baby but I went to makemebabies.com and put in pictures of Shawn and I and it showed us what our babies would look like! I honestly was hoping that they would turn out uglier (for comedic affect) but they didn't turn out too shabby. Okay, they are still a little weird looking, especially the little girls five-head, but I thought it would be worse!

Here is beebee girl with a five-head!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/STW3oFCNY2I/AAAAAAAAAeU/hrv1r1LHp3I/s320/wb20081202041931vei31ftnb31ph3vdkmeblmlkm1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5275324437708497762" />

Here comes beebee boy--now don't be scared when you see the roundess of the head.....it might bring back memories of a basketball?
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/STW9DcWYS9I/AAAAAAAAAes/c3FoSjbSHDc/s320/wb20081202045203vei31ftnb31ph3vdkmeblmlkm1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5275330405381721042" />

I figured if Shawn and I were having kids then Harley might as well right? I can't figure it out! So much has happened lately, Shawn's hunting trip (and gutting his first deer), Shawn's birthday, Halloween, mario kart....but as usual I haven't blogged about it! Maybe one of these days I will, but since I'm not going to right now then I will post our new family pictures we recently had taken! Shawn's brother is in the army and came for a visit so while he was here we had family pictures. We had some taken with Shawn's whole family (which I will post later because I don't have them yet) and then we also had pictures of our little family taken.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 232px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SRy_C5pB-MI/AAAAAAAAAdc/5xsWBYyXoYQ/s320/n512887337_1004653_4975.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5268295720670197954" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 256px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SRy_CedSGXI/AAAAAAAAAdU/Zp5ZXPhEIHA/s320/n512887337_1004652_436.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5268295713373165938" />Shawn and Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10804690379767529117noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1872212786325329487.post-21561467208409238812008-10-16T13:00:00.001-07:002008-10-16T14:06:09.521-07:00The Pirate House!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SPehv5sDKCI/AAAAAAAAAaQ/REfLTVpktoM/s320/l_5ad7c730e3eb4d32badd0beccd6d3eef.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5257848934289844258" />
About a month ago (I know I suck at blogging) we got to go stay in the Pirate House in Vegas (well near Vegas, its actually in Boulder City). Anyways, it was amazing! It was basically like staying at a Pirates of the Caribbean waterpark!! There were 21 rooms, 2 waterslides, 5 pools, a few hot tubs, a couple kitchens....it was INSANE! There were ships to jump from into the pool, hammocks everywhere and flat screen TV's EVERYWHERE! And they had some of the same set ups that they have on the Pirates of the Caribbean Disneylad ride. So there were pirates and skeletons and stuff all over the place. We were so lucky to be able to stay there! I have TONS of pictures of it so here are a bunch!
<img style="display:block; And the even better part is that they are low calorie (well lower than normal!)
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SOas-bURjBI/AAAAAAAAAS0/t1_zfFQE3jo/s320/Picture+001.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5253076203858922514" />

So the other day while I was at my place of employment we were discussing my co-workers (Lara...aka my kbff) birthday that was coming up. It was decided that I would make cupcakes to bring to work. Thats when Brian piped in and asked if we had ever had diet coke cake. Diet coke cake? Why no, I have never heard of it. Well Brian and his wife have lost weight and continue to lose weight. His wife was on The Biggest Loser a few years back. She was the one from Utah that made it to the finale, but was pregnant so she couldn't win. Anyways they are eating healthy and made a cake where they replaced the fatty oil and eggs and stuff with diet coke! I looked it up online and decided to try it! It is actually a weight watchers recipe. Anyways, its a really tough recipe. I don't know if you'll be able to make it unless you're an amazing cook like me. So here it is...

1 cake mix
1 can of diet coke (10-12 oz)
Mix it together and back like normal.

Yep thats it!! You don't add any other oil or eggs or water or anything! Just diet coke! I read somewhere that a whole can of diet coke (12 oz) was a little too much. So I did about 10-11 oz. I made the cupcakes the night before I brought them to work. After I mixed up the batter I tasted it. It tasted a little diet coke-ish but pretty good. I made the cupcakes and cooked them. they turned out pretty good except for they were a little flatter than usual but overall looked like normal cupcakes! I made homemade chocolate frosting (which is amazing by the way) to go on top of them. I was a little scared to take them to work because I hadn't tried them yet so I wasn't sure how they were. My kbff and I took a bite and they were AMAZING!!!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SOatWDOCo7I/AAAAAAAAAS8/HzMoAVhnQMA/s320/Picture+038.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5253076609707189170" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SOatzFOgFpI/AAAAAAAAATE/lwul83o-Klc/s320/Picture+017.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5253077108462196370" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SOatzTnBJbI/AAAAAAAAATM/iXEn2vQPAg4/s320/Picture+035.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5253077112323122610" />

Seriously, they were so so so good! They are soooo moist! I think even more moist than regular cupcakes! All in all I thought it was a big success! Then as the day went on and the cupcakes settled in my tummmy, a little rumbling started to occur and I started getting stomach pains. Thats when I remembered that I had this little problem called phenylketoneuric (thank you amber for finding out the official name!). Considering most of you (or all) don't know what that is, let me explain! Phenylketoneuric is when you have a bad reaction to the artificial sweetners they put in place of sugar. So whenever I eat anything sugar free it makes me sick....including diet coke apparently! I haven't had soda since 9th grade so I guess I didn't really think that putting diet coke in a cake mix would make me sick! Well the night I mixed up the batter I ate a lot of the dough (not much of a surprise if you know me very well). That night I was up until 3:30 to 4:00 in the morning with stomach cramps, and well, lets just say it--some heinous gas! I didn't think that the cake batter could have caused this trauma but apparently it did! My amazing diet coke cupcakes make me sick! Does that make me not want to eat them? Nope! It just makes it easier for me to rid myself of the calories =) he he he....(Plus the actually cake batter made me sicker than the cupcakes. I think most of the soda, if not all, gets cooked out in the oven)
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SOauTna7zPI/AAAAAAAAATc/fGS4Pfgb62o/s320/Picture+002.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5253077667396963570" />

By the way, if you are trying to keep them even more low calorie then use lite or fat free cool whip for the frosting instead of regular frosting. And I read somewhere else to not cook the cake as long as you usually would. Cook it about 5 minutes shorter. I tried that but then ended up cooking my cupcakes as long as you usually would. Maybe its different with cakes? I don't know! Let me know if you try this recipe though!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SOauTWswmpI/AAAAAAAAATU/OwU1pLtK2WM/s320/Picture+006.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5253077662908324498" />

P.S. We were bored at work which is why this blog has pictures that tells that story!Shawn and Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10804690379767529117noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1872212786325329487.post-82243650664956552092008-08-02T15:10:00.000-07:002008-08-02T15:38:51.234-07:00I LOVE TULSA!!I know shocking right?? Over the past month Tulsa has really grown on me! The first week we went to our ward here the bishop told me, "welcome to paradise." I laughed and was thinking, 'sheyah right' but now my thoughts have changed! And of course I start liking Tulsa right when my time here is winding down! Oh well!
Reasons for liking Tulsa:
1. Shopping: I know right? Who would have thought! Not only is there mall here huge but they have THE BEST shoe shopping ever!! There are these 2 shoe stores that I LOVE to go to! Lisa can testify to that! I think she bought 4 pairs of shoes while out here visiting me!
2. Frozen Custard on every corner. There are literally 5 frozen custard places within 10 minutes of my house. For all of you who haven't tried frozen custard you gotta try it! There aren't very many places in Utah to try it though. I will miss my chocolate frozen custard with brownies from Freddy's...
3. Uncle Vinny's Pizza: it was voted best pizza by the slice and I agree! Plus its cheap!
4. Our neighbors: We got to be friends with our neighbors who have this golden retriever. Harley and and their retriever, Coby, became best friends! Played all the time! I'll post a picture of them soon.
5. Our ward: This is been our favorite ward that we've been in. We love it. There are a lot of young couples and our bishop is awesome! I am sad to be leaving it! Its one of the main reasons why I started loving it here!
6. The Heat and Humidity! I know, I must be crazy right? I actually like how hot and humid it is! Well to an extent! But I love going outside at night and having a hot breeze! Don't know how to explain it and I'm sure if I was going door to door I wouldn't love it!

Things I don't like about Tulsa
1. Heat and Humidity! I know I know, we have a love hate relationship. Today it is 113 plus humidity and thats a little much for me. I'm afraid I'm gonna be cold when I come back to Utah!
2. The Apartments. The first thing you see when you pull in is a big sign that says, "top of the hill, top of the line." HA HA HA!!!
3. The unusually large bugs: Just imagine one of the grossest bugs you've seen in Utah and then times that by 3...or 4. Yeah thats the size of the bugs here. This centipede was found in our bathroom. I freaked out...just a lil' bit!!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SJTfcqYFYJI/AAAAAAAAASE/bG_jlk_uYaE/s320/l_d552405b7f5121cc4b365678a4a712b2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5230050750788624530" />
4. Looming water heater: I don't so much hate it anymore. It has kinda grown on me.
This is what it looks like though. After we took the picture I was trying to close the door to it and it broke! I busted up laughing cuz that's the story of this apartment!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SJTgJOZeZuI/AAAAAAAAASM/cHqWdGy9Ra4/s320/l_a3b8f47e5a603e356bbed1557a5f8487.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5230051516372379362" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SJTgJbGH8sI/AAAAAAAAASU/hxTrazl9x4U/s320/l_43c66e1687f10c62cf3e15c976ae36e7.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5230051519780876994" />Shawn and Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10804690379767529117noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1872212786325329487.post-21781579218750843152008-07-26T15:53:00.000-07:002008-07-26T16:18:46.681-07:00Viva Las Tulsa!Here are a few things that have been going on with us in Tulsa!
So a few Sundays ago we were taking a Sunday drive and decided to head down to downtown Tulsa. Well apparently downtown Tulsa is a business district so on the weekends its COMPLETELY dead! Not even a car in sight! And everything was closed...okay well most of the stores were closed--even restaurants and stuff. It was crazy! There wasn't even anyone to take a picture of us down there so we had to set the timer on our camera and set it on our car!! ha ha ha!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SIus8iP8AzI/AAAAAAAAAQ4/vyKwyZOU6RE/s320/l_bf5641041c0d97d542e10180d55550ba.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5227461948479374130" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SIus83RSxtI/AAAAAAAAARA/tLBeo6unNgA/s320/l_cd115f2a46c75cfd0f602da1ddda4f84.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5227461954122204882" />
We had a great 4th of July. The hubby's all had to work (holiday's are busy work days because it means that people will be home for them to talk to) so all the wives decided to get together for a bbq! All the sales guys actually got home right in time for the bbq and then after we all went down to watch the fireworks at the Arkansas River! I guess its the thing to do here! It actually ended up being pretty cool! It was a great firework show!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SIutlfSZOmI/AAAAAAAAARI/9RjelcmQc1U/s320/l_c78e83fea864d4012bcbddb19323ccfc.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5227462652059007586" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SIutlj_n7ZI/AAAAAAAAARQ/zyv4Ojyvl0o/s320/l_069c354073cfbf117eb6cf3b77591bd1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5227462653322456466" />
And then just last week my friend Lisa came to visit! It was so much fun even though we were completely lazy! All we did was eat, go to the pool, eat some more, shop, and then eat again! ha ha ha! I converted Lisa to the amazing Frozen Custard that they have all over out here! We got one everyday and it was sooo good!!
This is us with one of our daily frozen custards
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SIuuVr2Yp3I/AAAAAAAAARY/6ChA8rojiA0/s320/l_15ce90851f8141f5987e969e96014c4b.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5227463480064911218" />
We went to Cheesecake Factory which is within 5 minutes of my house. It doesn't matter if you've known me for a short time or a long time, anything that you remember! Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It is pretty funny to read the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you are playing and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. On your mark... get set... blog those memories!Shawn and Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10804690379767529117noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1872212786325329487.post-75435237265379386692008-06-28T16:08:00.001-07:002008-06-28T16:26:23.103-07:00Pool PetsSince we have moved to Tulsa we have found quite a variety of animals living in the pool. There are 2 pools in our apartment complex--the lower pool which is by the apartment complex office, and then an upper pool which is basically in the backyard of our apartment. Since the upper pool is closer we usually go to that one. Well when we moved into the apartment complex the pools weren't open yet, they didn't open for about two weeks. When we would walk Harley at night we would walk past the upper pool by our house. I'm gonna be honest, the pool was NASTY!! It was all green and swampy and gross. Come to find out there were snakes in it! Yes, snakes were living in the pool! Finally they cleaned it out and got rid of the snakes. Sure the pool was cleaner but it was still not open to the public yet. Even though it wasn't open to the public, apparently it was open to ducks. Every night we walked by the pool after it got cleaned there was a duck just chillin and floating around on it. We thought it was a fake duck so Shawn threw a rock at it and we discovered it was real! So the duck lasted about a week and then they opened the pool and the duck stopped showing up....must not like chlorine! While I thought we were rid of our wonderful pool pets I was wrong. For the past week or two every morning we find this in the pool
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SGbGDMyjwCI/AAAAAAAAAQY/2QqBROqP6tc/s320/untitled2.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5217074976630489122" />
Yes you saw it correctly--it is a rat. They are found in various forms; dead, alive, water-logged.... You would think that one of the surviving rats would run and tell the other rats that getting in the pool is not a good idea. But we have had no rat messengers relay this message for every morning rats are still found! I have never been so glad that I just lay out and don't actually get in the pool! While my hubby might be full of diseases,I am not! Phew, dodged that bullet! I thought the pool was bad but apparently the hot tub isn't much better. One night WHILE we were sitting in the hot tub we were informed by maintenance that it was filled with 'beer and piss'. YUMMY! That was the best news ever! Not only do I love sitting in a big bath tub filled with everyone else's filth, but now it is also filled with beer and piss. YAY! With this news of liquid options for the hot tub and various pets to choose from, I have never loved Tulsa so much!Shawn and Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10804690379767529117noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1872212786325329487.post-61437769018223432602008-06-16T14:42:00.000-07:002008-06-16T15:06:43.576-07:00Happy Father's Day!Okay this really has nothing to do with Father's Day other than the fact that it happened to fall on Father's Day! After I showered Shawn with his favorite foods and gave him some new shirts (I know I know, I am the best wife ever) then we headed out for our usual Sunday tradition. The group out here always BBQ's and then we head to the pool for some fun in the sun! Today we decided to take Harley so he didn't have to be stuck in the house. Harley isn't the biggest fan of water. He used to love it when he was a puppy. Whenever I was taking a shower he felt the need to join me. But then I had to start kicking him out cuz it was a pain to dry him off every day and I was sick of smelling wet dog. So eventually he stopped liking water! Well he has never been in deep enough water to try swimming. I always wondered if he even could swim considering his numerous rolls and stubby legs. So yesterday we were at the pool and it was like 95 and humid! He was getting so hot and couldn't find any relief! I was in the pool and I was trying to coax him in. With just me around him (he didn't trust any of the guys) he actually came in a few steps and hung out in the water. But once he went to step down on the third step he realized he would be in over his head and backed up! He did like the kiddie pool though and hung out there for a while...you know just drinking the nasty chlorinated water!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SFbgXAc6Q5I/AAAAAAAAAO4/_NViUJe3e60/s320/kiddie+pool.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5212600304590799762" />
Finally curiousity got the best of all of us wondering if Harley could swim. While Harley was playing a viscous game of tug-o-war with a water bottle, Steve pulled him right into the water (with the help of Rhees). Harley sunk right to the bottom! Not knowing if he was going to come up or not the guys pulled him up! I can still picture in my mind his little legs flailing and him gasping for breath as he came up out of the water with this horrified expression on his face! While I probably should have been a little worried I couldn't stop laughin at the poor lil' fella! I'm laughing right now typing the story! Anyhow, Steve helped him swim to safety!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SFbhj3rXu1I/AAAAAAAAAPA/3_7OJisMut0/s320/in+the+water.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5212601625085459282" />
After that whole little shinanigan we still don't even know if he could swim cuz he sunk so fast and didn't come up we didn't dare see if he would come up on his own! So after Harley took the plunge of death he was a little bit shaken up to say the least. When I went and sat down on a chair to dry off he came and sat on my lap and didn't want to get off! What a GREAT Father's Day! Can't wait until next Sunday at the pool!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SFbjbSGTK0I/AAAAAAAAAPI/TkAVYJdUtvo/s320/on+lap2.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5212603676582161218" />Shawn and Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10804690379767529117noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1872212786325329487.post-45031445278372872952008-06-05T13:46:00.001-07:002008-06-05T13:57:17.837-07:00You know you live in the ghetto when....<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SEhQzJkBJAI/AAAAAAAAAOw/QKVHHruxlYw/s320/untitled.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5208501808724517890" />
....this bilboard is displayed in the city you live in! Yes, this is not a joke. Yesterday when Shawn was driving out to go out and sell he came across this bilboard. What I am most thankful for is that if we ever need a criminal defense lawyer for guns, drugs or murder while we are out here, we have someone to turn to. Thank you Zach Smith, I'm glad I have a friend out here I can depend on!

By the way, this is not in my beloved Fayetteville that I miss so much--we moved to Tulsa a week or two ago. Let me just say that it is not paradise as the bishop told me the first sunday we were here! It was quite a culture shock moving from Fayetteville to here. Not only is the city much to be desired but our apartments are probably the worst one's I've ever lived in! It brings me back to the first apartment Shawn and I lived in when we got married(for those of you who saw it you know what I'm talking about!) Anyways, I am taking pictures and will post some of this new glorious place called home!Shawn and Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10804690379767529117noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1872212786325329487.post-65386987734769105192008-05-26T13:14:00.000-07:002008-05-26T13:55:15.611-07:00Amazing Fayetteville!As you may have guessed from the title of this post, WE LOVE FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS!! At first I thought that we were in the twilight zone or something...no wait, I don't even know why I said that. What's the twilight zone? I guess at first I thought we were in La La land? I don't even know what I'm thinking, but let me explain it. Everyone here is so strangely friendly that you would think it was fake...only its not! Everyone you walk past, you make eye contact with, you see across the street, or even if you think you might see someone around the corner, you say hi too. I'm not joking... I have never met people so friendly! Even in the grocery store everyone says hi to you when you walk past. It was so odd, but it was so genuine! It took some getting used to but we adapted quite quickly! It is also so green where we are! Everywhere you look it is just bright green--so pretty! And we live in the best place ever. Everything is within walking distance: the mall is in our backyard, the lake is just down the street, walmart is across the street and a sushi place is practically in our parking lot. where else would you need to go?? Although we love where we live we of course ran into some problems. When we got to our apartment we had no furniture. Shawn's company has our apartments furnished so we don't have to bring all of our couches and beds and stuff here. Well there was a mishap with the rental place and they said we wouldn't get our furniture until Monday...we got there on Thursday. So I figured, okay, whats a couple days without furniture? Well it did suck and I could hardly wait for our furniture to come on Monday, but then Monday came and went, Tuesday came and went....as did Wednesday...and then thursday came....and FINALLY we got our furniture. During that week of no furniture Harley and I had time to ponder on the wonders that is furniture, take lots of naps, and take lots of walks outside (Shawn was working all day so he wasn't home furniture-less).
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SDseTbESi9I/AAAAAAAAANU/vKiY6CQRFTI/s320/harding+372.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5204787113388837842" />

When we got our furniture I was quite ecstatic and immediately fell in love with the pretty periwinkle couches that now inhabit our family room. I began to wonder why I had never thought of something so beautiful, so profound to grace our presence in our home before! Here is Harley modeling them for us...
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SDsfXbESi-I/AAAAAAAAANc/GtEJZ32bLwY/s320/harding+384.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5204788281619942370" />

We live right by University of Arkansas and I have never seen people so dedicated to the local college! Everywhere we look there are red UA signs or pictures of a hog (their mascot). Everyone's outside mats to go into their house are hogs, they have flags outside their house, even the ladies at church have their little church bags with the mascot on it! In Walmart they have a huge section with rows and rows of University of Arkansas stuff...I thought you might not believe me so I was vedy vedy sneaky and took a picture with my phone (I was trying to fit in and didn't them to think I was weird for taking a picture...)
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SDsgrbESi_I/AAAAAAAAANk/LIttmqwwy-4/s320/untitled.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5204789724728953842" />

One of our favorite parts about living here is living so close to the lake. They have a little track that goes around it that we can take walks on and take Harley around. They have a big park area also. And they have little benches on the bridge that you can sit on and look out at the lake. It is AMAZING and we will definitely miss it when we move!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SDshTbESjAI/AAAAAAAAANs/crB-_Yji63c/s320/harding+122.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5204790411923721218" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SDshTrESjBI/AAAAAAAAAN0/mEeQBo3Bhxo/s320/harding+121.2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5204790416218688530" />

Whenever we move anywhere Harley always has his two favorite places. The first is the balcony. He takes after me and would lay all day in the sun if he could! On our balcony out here the sun only hits it in the morning so first thing in the morning he runs over to the door to go 'lay out.' The second place is the chair. Back at home he is only allowed on the couch, not on our chair. But when we come out
for the summer we have rental furniture which means he takes reign over the chair!! Here he is, just woken up and has morning hair...aka morning ears.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SDsiTLESjCI/AAAAAAAAAN8/v2Z6CmSQwpY/s320/harding+152.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5204791507140381730" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SDsiT7ESjDI/AAAAAAAAAOE/A-IPYDdwRdM/s320/harding+084.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5204791520025283634" />

Oh and here is Harley with his new friend! The guys have now become licensed in Oklahoma so we will be leaving here =(Shawn and Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10804690379767529117noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1872212786325329487.post-55635210129437678582008-05-26T12:25:00.000-07:002008-05-26T13:14:08.102-07:00The trek to Fayetteville, ArkansasSo I have gotten lazy...Whoops! My bad! A LOT has been going on this past month so be prepared for a long post! For all of you that don't know, The Mr. does summer sales--he sales security systems. So every summer we get to move somewhere new! While some may think its a pain to move every summer, I LOVE it!! I love to live all different places and I find myself getting antsy when I live in the same place for more than a few months. This is our third year with this company. Our first summer we went to Chicago, then last summer we went to Albuquerque, New Mexico and then to Vegas for a month for extended season, and then this year we are going to Fayetteville Arkansas and Tulsa, Oklahoma. The originally plan was just to go to Oklahoma bu it is really hard to get licensing there and we didn't quite have all the tests taken and paperwork done to go there when we needed to so we headed off to Fayetteville, Arkansas first. The night before we left to come to Fayetteville, I got this stabbing pain in my side. I tried to just ignore it because we had big plans for our last night (dinner at the parents and then a going away party with all our friends where we were gonna eat lots of treats and play rockband). Well I made it to dinner with my parents but then we were headed to our friends house and I couldn't bare the pain any longer!! Actually, my hubby couldn't bare watching me in pain any longer! I was just gonna deal with it but he made me go to the instacare. They took my blood and said I was on the verge of needing to have my apendix out. I guess my white blood cell count was 0.2 away from the danger zone! They sent me home but told me to go to the emergency room if it got worse. Our plan was to leave at midnight or 1am that morning for Arkansas but obviously that wasn't going to happen. I made it through the night and then the next morning I was feeling better but we went and got my blood tested just in case. The tests came back and my white blood cell count had drastically dropped which meant we were good to go. PHEW! We went and finished loading up the car (apendix still in the belly), put Harley in the back and started to pull out of the driveway. Harley was had been so excited and so nervous that we were going to leave him that it made his tummy start rumbling and he puked in the back seat. We cleaned that up and then he puked not one more time but two more times--3 times total! After we got that cleaned up we were FINALLY on our way!

It was a long 20 hour drive. We stopped in Amarillo, Texas and stayed in a beautiful motel...and by beautiful I mean gross. But what can you do right? On our long car rides we always take lots of pictures cuz we get bored. Here are a few....notice my puffy swollen eyes from crying the night before cuz I thought my guts were gonna explode out of my tummy!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SDsVQLESi2I/AAAAAAAAAMc/onSX2mQ50LQ/s320/harding+110.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5204777161949612898" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SDsTErESizI/AAAAAAAAAME/uAThcS7J5Y8/s320/harding+018.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5204774765357861682" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SDsUGbESi1I/AAAAAAAAAMU/LFWs-14p8_A/s320/harding+081.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5204775894934260562" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SDsV0LESi3I/AAAAAAAAAMk/h4-gOA_7mG0/s320/harding+273.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5204777780424903538" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SDsWxrESi4I/AAAAAAAAAMs/ltOA2rFLdbQ/s320/harding+316.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5204778836986858370" />

Some highlights of our drive (besides the motel of course)...
Harley constantly wanting to sit on my lap. We love to go there and stay with his grandparents! They live up up up in the hills above Temucula on a farm. Its a good half hour away from any store. But its nice to be up there and be away from things! Everytime we go there shawn says, "shoulda been a cowboy!" They have 8-10 horses, a chicken coop, 5 dogs and a bunch of cars (shawn's grandpa loves to work on and restore old cars). Anyways, I LOVE animals so I love going there and being around all the animals. Shawn's gram has recently gotten three new horses from Brazil. She goes on trips over to Brazil and rides the different horses to pick out the one that she wants. These are two of her newest horses (the third one just got guilded aka neutered so it was recovering)

This is Ziahmorra (I hope that's how you spell it). She is one of my favorite horses. She is so pretty and is so calm and nice.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SAPw_o4fhUI/AAAAAAAAALM/G7uQfbOQkEc/s320/Picture+047.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5189256171757733186" />

This is one of their other new horses. I can't remember his name but it starts with a Z too. Anyways, he is pretty new so they haven't trained him completely yet and he likes to nibble!! He kept nibbling me in all the wrong places!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SAPxc44fhVI/AAAAAAAAALU/8mwa2rggqtg/s320/Picture+053.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5189256674268906834" />
Ahhhh....there you go! This is Max the German Shephard...
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SAPysI4fhYI/AAAAAAAAALs/tJRNJMxXVSw/s320/Picture+062.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5189258035773539714" />
And this is TJ their biggest dog. He is massive! I'm not kidding! When he stands up he seriously looks like a bear! We love him so much but he is starting to get old and is getting arthiritis, poor pup. The whole time I was at Disneyworld I kept thinking that the rides weren't as good as I remembered (well from Disneyland). I thought it was because I hadn't been to Disneyland in a while, but it had only been like 2 years since I had been there. Even Space Mountain which is one of my all time favorite rides gave me whiplash and didn't seem very fun! Blaine and I went on that ride a couple times because we swore it should have been better! Anyways, after going to Disneworld and then going to Disneyland a couple weeks later I came to the conclusion that Disneyland is SO MUCH BETTER!! The rides are all waaaaay better than Disneyworld! Space Mountain totally redeemed itself!! It gave me a new found love for Disneyland. Here are some of the highlights.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SAPfvY4fhNI/AAAAAAAAAKU/jf4r18XLLKA/s320/Picture+017.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5189237200887186642" />I have met a lot of the princesses and other Disney characters but none quite compared to Cruella Deville. Right when we walked into Disneyland we saw her so Natalie and I went to take a picture with her. I was trying to make conversation with her so I said, "is that dalmation you're wearing?" She said, "no blondie, does it look like there are spots on this?" Oh...um....whoops! My bad! So she totally made fun of me and then John was trying to take a picture of Natalie and I with her and he acccidentally pushed the wrong button and turned the camera off. Cruella made fun of him too and said, "you would do that!" HA HA HA!! Then after we took our pictures we turned to leave and she said, "the exit is that way, I suggest you use it!"

Natalie and I on a ride
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SAPgP44fhOI/AAAAAAAAAKc/H_617qlHOOc/s320/Picture+022.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5189237759232935138" />

Shawn and I on the tea cups. You would be amazed at how hard it is to fit 4 adults in one tea cup! I wish we had a picture of that! It was actually quite painful for the legs!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SAPgtY4fhPI/AAAAAAAAAKk/uBerDzAU-2k/s320/Picture+024.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5189238266039076082" />

All of us on Space Mountain which is pretty much the best ride ever! Well that and Indiana Jones!! Shawn was so funny. He insisted on keeping his hands up on every single ride no matter what! He would never put his hands down.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SAPhQo4fhQI/AAAAAAAAAKs/SPEzybtuySc/s320/Picture+027.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5189238871629464834" />

Natalie and I chillin with Winnie the Pooh's honey
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SAPiHo4fhSI/AAAAAAAAAK8/i7U88mOw0V8/s320/Picture+036.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5189239816522269986" />

The Haunted Mansion ride....what else is there to do on there? he he he....
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SAPhyo4fhRI/AAAAAAAAAK0/As9u1QfD2hU/s320/Picture+034.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5189239455745017106" />

A few more pictures....
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SAPkHI4fhTI/AAAAAAAAALE/ZYCKxBs9I54/s320/collage1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5189242006955590962" />

Has anyone else been to both Disneyworld and Disneyland? I have gone with them to Orlando twice, tampa, and Tacoma. It has been fun and I love to travel! Well the last tradeshow I went to was in Orlando back in March. The day before the tradeshow started we had a some extra time. I couldn't help but notice that we were staying right next to Disneyworld. I had never been and so suggested that maybe we should go. Well two of the sales guys made fun of me, but Blaine said that he was in! YES!! I was so stoked! We didn't go to Disneyworld until about 5pm. It had been raining since about 2:00 or 3:00 but that wasn't stopping us. I was actually pretty excited that it was raining because that meant no lines! For all of you who know me that is a really good thing because I am extremely impatient. The whole waiting thing just doesn't really work for me! Anyways, right when we got to Disneyworld it stopped raining. It couldn't have been better timing because most people had already left the park since it had been raining for a few hours. The first ride we went on was Splash Mountain. We were THE ONLY people on the ride. For some reason I thought that you didn't get very wet on Splash Mountain. I was very VERY sadly mistaken! We got SOAKED!! My sweatshirt had totally soaked through to my shirt and my jeans were almost completely wet! This is me after the ride...
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SALLyI4fhII/AAAAAAAAAJs/aDXM_Fl5eCo/s320/Picture+083.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5188933782922560642" />
Just when I thought I was getting a little dry (about an hour later) it started pouring down rain again! It wasn't too bad at first and we weren't complaining because there were still no lines whatsoever! We would literally walk right up to the ride and get in! If you've ever been to Florida you know that when it rains it means business! Within no time there were huge puddles everywhere! My uggs were starting to get completely soaked through with water...all the way to my socks! There was no longer a dry spot left on me! But we still made it through the whole park and went on all the rides by the time it was 11 or 12. It was definitely a night to remember!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SALND44fhJI/AAAAAAAAAJ0/bv0i0yEbq_s/s320/Picture+111.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5188935187376866450" />
I wanted the whole Disneyworld experience....Mickey ears and all!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SALNb44fhKI/AAAAAAAAAJ8/OLJwv5qZ-jc/s320/Picture+132.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5188935599693726882" />

This is Blaine and I at the end of the night waiting for our ride. We also saw an alligator in this little pond on our way to work one day. Can you see him? (I hope he wasn't the one that I ate later on that night! That would just put a face to the food...poor lil' fella!)
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SALOc44fhMI/AAAAAAAAAKM/pexy8zuU8MY/s320/Picture+165.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5188936716385223874" />Shawn and Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10804690379767529117noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1872212786325329487.post-52527555162164135492008-04-12T12:11:00.000-07:002008-04-12T12:49:03.868-07:00I turned 6 this year!!As many of you know, I am a leap year baby! So after a long awaited four years, I finally got to have a real birthday!! While it was great that I had a real birthday this year, I kinda missed saying that it was my birthday for two days (When there is no February 29, I always claim my birthday is February 28 and March 1. If I don't have one birthday I might as well have two right??) I was so excited for my birthday that I pretty much had a birthday week! Everyday of the week during my birthday I went to dinner with different groups of my friends. The food was great and so was the company (awwwww....). Oh, and I got two birthday cakes! YES!! One from my family and then one when we were snowmobiling in yellowstone....which brings me to my next topic! Shawn and I went snowmobiling in yellowstone on my birthday! YAY!! We went with some of the people we are going to sell with this summer! We left on Friday, February 29 and got to the cabins we were staying at. We ate dinner and had yummy birthday cake! Then we snowmobiled Saturday and Sunday and came home on Monday. It was a great way to celebrate the big 06! he he he....I'm getting soooooo old, before you know it I'll be 7! EEEEEEEEEK!!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SAEQOFrwGUI/AAAAAAAAAJA/ZzxbT2mADAE/s320/Picture+013.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5188446079937419586" />

I hated HATED the helmets! The scooter incident took up some of our morning so we went to the ruins and to the beach. The ruins were pretty cool--really old and stuff like you might expect them to be! <img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/R_1i5VrwF4I/AAAAAAAAAFM/Kl58FVTGwhM/s320/Picture+289.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5187411083013396354" />

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/R_1iQVrwF3I/AAAAAAAAAFE/B8rrnNmRtH8/s320/Picture+313.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5187410378638759794" /> We drove around the whole island and found our own little beach on the backside of the island. So we layed out (mostly me) and played in the ocean (mostly Shawn).

More pictures from the cruise....
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SAEH51rwGQI/AAAAAAAAAIg/3ZnVexBsftA/s320/collage.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5188436935952046338" />Shawn and Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10804690379767529117noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1872212786325329487.post-13736656986203568122008-04-10T09:51:00.001-07:002008-04-12T12:11:31.712-07:00Belize<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SAEIhVrwGRI/AAAAAAAAAIo/9GVu4I3Yq6E/s320/Picture+217.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5188437614556879122" /> Then the very next day we went to Belize. When we got to Belize there was a group of 10 of us and we decided to go cave tubing and ziplining through the jungle! We had a crazy tour guide named Joel, Joe or Jose or something (he really didn't care what we called him as long as we gave him money! He's in the picture with me to the left)<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SAEIy1rwGSI/AAAAAAAAAIw/FALtsW7yLBo/s320/Picture+234.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5188437915204589858" />Anyway, we were short on time so he was a real crazy driver almost killing us numerous times!To go cave tubing we had to hike through the Belize jungle in our swimming suits carrying the tube we planned to use! It was so hot and humid and we were sweating our guts out (but how can you complain when it was snowing in Utah???)<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/SAEJQVrwGTI/AAAAAAAAAI4/er70XRF7z_M/s320/Picture+227.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5188438422010730802" />
Once we FINALLY got to the river to go tubing through the caves they hooked us up in a line and sent us on our way! We had Joe or Jose's son Elmer pull our line of tubes down the river and then Jose pulled the other line of tubes! It was really pretty and we saw lots of cool things but I kept thinking something from under the dark waters was gonna jump up and get me!
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/R_6z-VrwGOI/AAAAAAAAAIE/tF_qMsHVjRY/s320/Picture+386.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5187781704331303138" />After the cave tubing we went and ziplined through the jungle! We went down 6 different zip lines total. It was so much fun! <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/R_60blrwGPI/AAAAAAAAAIM/pxz05EgJfcc/s320/Picture+391.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5187782206842476786" />Shawn and Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10804690379767529117noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1872212786325329487.post-64098112216756619832008-04-09T15:24:00.000-07:002008-04-10T17:47:21.919-07:00More of the cruise!<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/R_5HDFrwGKI/AAAAAAAAAHk/T3HyI-JsuWU/s320/Picture+055.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5187661939168254114" />On January 28, 2008 we left for our first cruise! We went on a Caribbean cruise which went to Belize and Cozumel. We loved it! We went on this cruise thanks to Shawn's work (thank you Apx)! It was so much fun because there were about 300 other Apx employee's on this cruise with us so we were able to hang out with some of our friends!

This is me with some of the wives hanging out while the hubby's play in a dodgeball tournament.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/R_1HFFrwF0I/AAAAAAAAAEs/B7_OgU0v3O0/s320/Picture+030.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5187380498551281474" />

There were always so many activities going on when we were on the boat like the buffet, the newlywed game, the buffet, belly flop contest, 24-hour soft serve ice cream, shows, and....oh did I mention the buffet? LOVED THE FOOD!! Here is Shawn and I on formal night...
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/R_5He1rwGLI/AAAAAAAAAHs/oisHI5hDB_E/s400/Picture+071.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5187662415909623986" />

Oh and did you know that they have a chapel on the top floor of the ships? Well they do and apparently people get married on the boat!! Insane I know! But since other people were doing it I wanted to do it too! he he he....
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/R_5H2lrwGMI/AAAAAAAAAH0/I2foYParAIU/s320/Picture+050.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5187662823931517122" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_S_l2UiPhQjo/R_5IJVrwGNI/AAAAAAAAAH8/enQw5qrDV_4/s320/Picture+052.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5187663146054064338" />Shawn and Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10804690379767529117noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1872212786325329487.post-24127312734241403242008-03-17T14:38:00.001-07:002008-03-17T15:04:17.906-07:00The scooter ride that was notAbout a month ago the Mr. and I went on a caribbean cruise. We went to Cozumel and Belize. It was amazing and wonderful and we loved it! We can't wait to go on another one. I thought I'd share one of my favorite moments from the cruise....

We were trying to figure out what we should do in Cozumel. Even though the cruise line strongly suggests not renting scooters, apparently the cool thing to do is to rent them and cruise around the island and go to the ruins and to all the different beaches. Since I care about my image and easily cave to peer pressure, then obviously we ended up renting the scooters.

How could the scooter ride go awry when I look so good in the helmet you ask? Well its simple, it wasn't us who had a mishap with the scooters--it was the couple we were with (who will remain nameless unless they wanna come out of the closet). Anyways, we rent the scooters and get on them and are ready to ride! We are behind our friends and they start to pull out of the parking lot with us following behind. Once out of the parking lot, we are supposed to turn left. Well instead of doing that our friends speed ahead and plummet into the curb in front of them throwing the wife off the scooter and causing the husband to fall to the ground with the scooter falling on top of him. They husband jumped up and quickly and said that he was fine and ready to go (even though his shin was gushing blood). The wife looked at him like he was crazy and told him she wasn't getting back on. By then I was no longer afraid of my image being tarnished--I was deathly afraid of the scooter. My hubby didn't even ask questions, we just turned around and went back and rented a jeep (which is what I wanted to do in the first place, but we had to be like the cool kids) This is us in our SAFE jeep!

While we went and rented a jeep our friends got in a little tiff with the guys who rented the scooters to them. They were telling them they had to pay all this money cuz they broke the scooter (which they did,but just not as bad as they were saying). In the end they worked out a deal and had to pay some money but not as much as was originally asked for. The husband got his shin checked out on the boat and he could have had stitches but he just had them butterfly it up! I'm pretty sure we will never rent scooters EVER again!

Shawn and Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10804690379767529117noreply@blogger.com6
